ARCH 302A: Architectural Design III Gallery: Co-op City – Housing for the Collective Good: From Minimal Dwelling to Maximal Housing

Uniform Binary

This design creates a cooperative housing for artists and musicians who want to share the cultural experience and continue the legacy that Leimert Park holds. Residential units are designed in a modular user-determined style. Incoming residents will discuss with the designer to decide the number of single-unit plots and the orientation they want them to be arranged. The public square serves as a creative gathering place for artists and families, welcoming retailers such as Saturday market and food carts and hosting cultural and artistic events. Ground floor can also host various markets, cafes and shops, welcoming itself to the street to be integrated as a community.
