Traversing the Lines

The threshold has been thought of not just as a connector of space but as something that defines it. The project explores the nature of thresholds in relation to a set of datum lines around it – constantly traversing those lines above, below, and along it. The use of fragmented framing elements reinforce or open up views towards housing, the various transit stops, and the distant horizon. As a primary gateway between the city and arriving visitors, the threshold as an experience extends beyond itself to reflect and frame views of the LA landscape.
