The Barrio

Single low-income families face a lot of problems when wanting to start a family because of the high cost of living in places like Los Angeles. My project seeks to remedy these stressful situations by giving them a permanent place to live amongst other families just like theirs. It’s an experimental arrangement that gives these families private units to rest while sharing kitchen/dining and living spaces between each other. The project also intends to become a place for the entire community to utilize through the educational spaces found at the ground level of the project.
