This project focuses on the 9 square grid as an organization strategy. It uses extrusions in the forms of cubes and prisms to alter a dancer’s movement. The cubes provide flat spaces for free movement while the prisms create diagonal spaces that act as artistic obstacles for unique choreography. The site provides a mixture of rigidity from the grid layout, as well as fluidity from the variety of volumes for a dancer to maneuver throughout. There are stepped spaces for audiences to participate and watch performances.
