This project focuses on a community center at the core of the Leimert Park area. Through varied studies on typologies and open space in the area, this community center becomes a hub for locals to engage in activities such as recreation, learning, gathering space and more to bring activation to the community. The concrete facade creates a monolithic and solid atmosphere while the interior consists of transparency and soft boundaries allowing programs to divulge into one another. The contrasts between the solid and void create a dynamic space promoting social engagement and the re-activation of Leimert Park.
