Hidden Kitchen

This project is designed for a chef that wants an outdoor kitchen and restaurant All the components of the site are designed with a consistent language of diagonal motion. The diagonal grid and diagonal motion create variety in motion and ways to manipulate views to ensure privacy. Changing the scale of figures made of diagonal surfaces affects their function. Objects of smaller scale create surfaces to sit and eat on. Those of larger scale create public and private spaces and also the circulation among them. The kitchen of the restaurant is at the center of a series of private dining rooms that are specifically placed and rotated in the plan for efficient circulation. A home and private eating and gathering space for the chef are placed across the bike path and separated from the restaurant area.
