This project is an investigation of transitioning between expanded and compacted living. The looming tower acts as a vertical extension to the mat building, as there is a transition from a universal grid to a constrained volume that extends vertically, becoming a difference of articulation in either the plan or the section. Additionally, this project is composed of an experiment of figural composition, where randomness within the grid becomes contrasted by strictly formulated geometry. These qualities result in spaces of different shapes or heights, in turn, influence ways of inhabitation and programming of the project.
