Community Center on Leimert Promenade

The Leimert Community Center strives to enhance the existing vibrant culture by creating a visibly ephemeral structure that blends within its surroundings. The porous zones of circulation are continuations of the re-envisioned promenade on Degnan Blvd. The use of glazing systems highlights the structure both inside and out while maintaining ideal visual transparency. The mix-use facade brings in elements of solid to contrast the high layers of opacity and thermal qualities. With the inclusion of the Community Center, Leimert Park grows into a continual social hub that embraces its culture.
