ACTIVATED ALLEY IN LEIMERT PARK

Throughout Leimert park there is a series of pedestrian networks , “the alleys”. The goal of this project is to bring this alley typology into the focus of the project as an attempt to activate a public plaza, a performance space, and a mural art piece. The project uses a hyperbolic roof form that reflects the buildings exciting, modern and artistic functions of the museum ,classrooms, black boxes. The Brick façade is accommodated to bring in natural lighting and allows for artistic murals in the alley to create a strong identity and focus on social justice issues represented in Los Angeles and in Film .
