Rudiments

The first semester studio lays the foundations for an education in architecture: understanding and utilizing fundamental design principles; developing critical faculties; mastering skills for representation and communication; and becoming proficient in using – and breaking – architectural conventions.

In the final four-week project students integrated their previous experiences in the design of a programmed and sited architectural construct. Formal, organizational, programmatic and sensorial imperatives were synthesized in its development and presentation.
