ARCH 302B: Architectural Design III

Oakwood Community Center

This studio designed a 40,000sf recreation center in the Oakwood Neighborhood of Venice. The program includes a long-span event/sports hall, classrooms, library, kitchen, admin, utility, and programmed exterior spaces. Each student was also required to develop a “wildcard” program of their choosing based on studio conversations with members of the Oakwood Community. Each design must resolve the formal, experiential, and technical requirements of architecture through the integration of tectonic, structural, mechanical, and passive systems.
