Village 43 aims to capture the unique spirit of the vibrant and racially diverse community that surrounds it. The space within an existing parking lot is re-allocated as a live-work complex that enhances Leimert Park’s already dynamic street life, providing studios that increase accessibility to its historic art scene, a necessary venue for open-air dining, and flexible outdoor space for home-productivity and social events. A reflection of Leimert Park’s identity, the project aims to nurture communal vitality, discourage gentrification and celebrate the soul of the neighborhood.
