Striated Garden Houses

A rowhouse typology was adopted and arranged as a series of bars, forming alleys or “walk streets” of different lengths and proportions. Adjacent to the alleys, enclosed patios and gardens on the ground floor and recessed balconies on the second floor are interspersed among the bars, creating various degrees of privacy and openness among neighbors. Clerestory windows channel light in the units while ribbon windows establish a visual connection to the alleys.
