In the post-epidemic era, the new normal will place greater importance and value on outdoor communal spaces and natural ventilation, as well as on spatial systems that are open, flexible, and can be easily adapted to accommodate various users, programs, circumstances. Consequently, the focus of the proposal seeks to address these issues in two ways: to create open clusters of units that share outdoor spaces and can be used in a multitude of different ways, and a gable-roofed building that integrates private outdoor slat-covered patios with the primary building envelope and mass.
