CO-OP CORES

Co-op Cores serves as a low-income cooperative housing project that reimagines recyclable materials as embellishments for the playful architecture of Leimert Park. The residential units will mostly serve the elderly community with the help of a few working class individuals. To combat sustainability in low income housing, the concept of utility cores were introduced as a method of creating zones in which residents can easily delineate their minimum needs among themselves. The interior walls that fill in the main skeleton structure are made up of modular wall studs that will be physically put together through collaborative group effort.
