ARCH 102B: Architectural Design I

Skills with misconceits, misnomers, and minutiae

This course provides students the opportunity to design and communicate space through narrative, accomplished via combination of three drawing types: paraline, perspective, and animation. Students will develop authorship over representation and storytelling, and become aware of the values of both subjective and objective drawing techniques. Iteratively moving back and forth between 2D, 3D, and 4D mediums, students will explore how drawings belonging to each of these dimensions contribute to the design process and language.
